Hippophae rhamnoides. This hardy 8ft shrub actually prefers poor sandy soils and altitudes of 4000 ft.and up. Native of China. It fixes nitrogen into the soil and provides thorny cover for birds. The thin greyish leaves are prefered by horses and have been made part of legend for their healthful benefits to the horse. The brite orange berries are produced on female plants and are very high in vitamin C and E, used in juices and recommended by Dr. Oz.

Souris Raspberry
An introduction from the Morden Research Station in Canada. 'Souris' is an improved red, summer-bearing raspberry. Compared to the old standard 'Boyne', 'Souris' is slightly sweeter, more productive and has better spider mite resistance. Zone 3-7
